The Trump administration’s deportations are running well short of the 1 million per year goal he’s advocated, according to one estimate.
Economists at Barclays are estimating that deportations are being made at an annual rate of 120,000, according to a research note published Thursday. They derive that data from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention data, as monthly interior detentions and deportations are highly correlated.
